Winter Harbor
Winter Harbor is the mainland gateway to Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula: a working lobster port with inns, cafés, a gallery, the park’s Schoodic district at its door, and the seasonal passenger ferry to Bar Harbor.

Winter Harbor is a small working fishing village on the Schoodic Peninsula — population 461 in the 2020 census — with a multigenerational lobster fleet and the harbor that gives the town its name.
The town is the gateway to Acadia National Park’s Schoodic district. The former naval station on the point is now the campus of Schoodic Institute, and Grindstone Neck preserves the village’s historic summer colony.
